We first heard of Dave Smith some ten years ago during a conversation about our then, one year old German Shepherd dog, Simba, who had been experiencing considerable digestive problems since we had obtained him at eight weeks of age. We took our dog to see Mr Smith of Healthy Pets two or three times and we were quite frankly amazed at the way he got to the root of the problem also immediately. Our dog has not looked back since and to our great delight has been a wonderful and healthy companion ever since.
It is important to stress at this point that we had spent the first year of Simba's life continually trying to solve his problems through more conventional methods of numerous tests, differnet foods, eating regimes and of course considerable expense. We have also been impressed by the absence of any hard sell tactics as a result of his advice and any goods we have purchased form his shop, we have undertaken soley on a voluntary basis. Finally, we would have no hesitation in recommending anyone with problems with their dogs to going and consulting Mr Smith.

From Di Joyce & Lilia
I have an adorable, friendly 16 month old staffie X called Lilia. She has always been excitable but by October last year she was becoming uncontrollable off her lead. She would run at you jump up and latch onto your arm or jacket. It wasn't aggressive (even though it did hurt) she just didnt know what to do next as she was so hyper and she constantly jumped up and chewed her lead, I had to take a corrector out with me to stop her doing it. Even after a 2hr walk she would still be climbing up the walls all evening until I went to bed. Also she was always really hot and her face was really pink. My friend Pam told me about Dave from Healthy Pets and I wentto see him. I was feeding Lilia on JWB. Dave told me Lilia was wheat and rice intolerant, the JWB is to high in protein for Lilia & had rice in it which made it unsuitable for her. He recommended Forthglade meat, veg & veg diet.
I will admit I was sceptical of this as Dave used a very 'unusual' methodto diagnose this but as I was at my wits end with Lilia's behaviour I had to try it. With in a week shewas not as hot as before and by the end of the second week I realised she hadn't jumped up me once. A month into the diet and I had a different puppy. Before she was so distracted and would never listento me now we have started a training class (at puppy class she was disruptive now she sits quietly with 6 other dogs even when they are barking) and she is actually learning now. She never jumps and she will enjoy her walk then settle down when we come back indoors.
The other day she managed to find a bit of bread in mums garden and ate it with in an hour she was back to her old ways again but by the next day she was back to normal.
I cannot thank Dave enough for all his help and advice and I wish I knew about him when I first got Lilia and she wouldn't have been eating the wrong thing and feeling bad for it. I now have a loving happy healthy dog. I have spoken to many other people who have taken their dogs to Dave and are all thrilled with the results.
Once again thanks to Dave and all the Staff at Healthy Pets its a pleasure to shop there and thank you for making my little dogs life (and mine!) a happier one.
